Licorice starter kit Jouza Hookah in Bandung: the cheap shortlist
Licorice in Bandung: 9 units tested over 2 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Bandung.
Where buyers go wrong with licorice in Bandung
Licorice in Bandung reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bandung that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within Rp1.93 per 10 ml.
The short version: licorice in Bandung works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice starter kit really costs in Bandung
We run licorice the same way in Bandung: same starter kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested licorice in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Indonesia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 5–10 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Indonesia, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long licorice in Bandung survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised Rp52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run Rp1.93 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever Indonesia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
